PDP MTPT 2018… Curtains Drawn!
 by Chris Osa Nehikhare.
APC federal government and Edo state government pay lip service to job creation…
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State has linked the inability of the state government and the APC led federal government to provide jobs for her teaming youth population as the reason why many leave the state for Libya. Edo youths are especially disappointed with the party that has been in power for upwards of nine uninterrupted years. The fear of death in the desert and Mediterranean Sea has not deterred the determination to seek for a better and fulfilled life. From the economy to the unending trauma of killings by herdsmen and “cancelled” promises of APC, they decide that a trip to the unknown is better than the lies they are fed by APC government at the State and Federal levels. Edo youths will experience a new and better lease of life when PDP is returned to power in 2019.The State Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Obih stated this during the “PDP Meet the People Tour” in Abudu and Oredo to bring to an end to the seven days tour across the eighteen local government areas in the State. The Chairman who challenged the idea of the Governor Obaseki led administration in turning Edo line into a mechanic workshop when the state government could have easily created a mechanic village elsewhere also lamented the shutdown of Bendel Brewery which he said could have created jobs for Edo youths.

“How can they create jobs, when Edo line that was a major employer of labour was shut down and its facility turned into a mechanic workshop. Gov Obaseki could have created a mechanic village if job creation was a priority to his government… If Governor Obaseki cared, he would not have killed Bendel Brewery in collaboration with Adams Oshiomhole”
“How can they create Jobs, when they shut down College of Education Ekiadolor, sacked all its staff, teaching and non teaching and created a ‘Sign-board’ University in its place… “
“How can they create jobs, when money meant to equip and kick start the Accident and Emergency ward of central hospital Benin was diverted to build their private university in Iyamoh…” Chief Orbih asserted that Adams Oshiomhole as governor and Obaseki as head of economic team, moved money (virement) budgeted for the equipping and completion of the Accident and Emergency ward that meets work injury laws to build and equip a specialist hospital in their university in Iyamoh!
“How can they create jobs, when the college of agriculture Iguoriakhi is closed, college of education Igueben, Unfunded! School of nursing unaccredited and closed down, AAU abandoned and Edo State Polytechnic Usen is burdened with 12 months unpaid salaries. They cannot create jobs, when there are more cows in primary schools, than there are teachers”, Chief Dan Orbih concluded, as some youths displayed a banner of cows that displaced school children in their schools!

Chief Orbih promised a better and more fulfilling life for Edo youths and all Edo people when PDP is returned to power in 2019.

He said to change the tide, party stakeholders must work as one to encourage as well as sensitize those who are yet to register for the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration.

On the forthcoming local government election, Chief Orbih reiterated that PDP’s position not to participate in the poll has not changed.

Chief Orbih lamented the presence and attitude of dishonorable men in government and even heading the government party whose defense for the shortcomings of their incompetence is to blame PDP. He scoffed at their weather beaten lines of pointing at PDP even when the rot they point at occurred when they served as Commissioners, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals and special advisers under the PDP they now vilify. They have no moral justification to criticize the party as they were the architects of the problems if really there is a problem!

Those in Igarra, Auchi, Agenebode, Fugar , Sabo and Afuze are feeling the pains inflicted by the incompetence of APC led government.
The people of Uromi, Igueben, Ubiaja, Irrua and Ekpoma are demanding inclusiveness in the building of infrastructure and respect for their traditional institutions.
The peace loving and accommodating people of Ehor, Iguobazuwa, Okada, Egor, Abudu, Ologbo and Oredo demand an effective and responsive government. They want their son not just to be in government, but to be in power!
