GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, yesterday, in Benin City, called on Nigerians to do all that was necessary to end the orgy of violence in parts of the country and restore peace to the trouble spots.

The governor, meanwhile, pledged to surpass his first term achievements that endeared him to the people of the state and Nigerians in general.

Oshiomhole, who declared open the National Executive Council, NEC, of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in Benin City, commended labour movements and the entire workers in the country for their support and commitment despite the challenges culminating in his victory in Edo State gubernatorial election of July 14, 2012.

Represented by the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Abdul Oroh, Governor Oshiomhole lamented the unnecessary blood letting and destruction of lives and property in parts of the country and called on labour movement to play a greater role in efforts to restore peace in the country.
