Nigeria: Kogi LG Restricts Okada Operation
Lokoja — Liaison Officer 1 of Yagba-East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Comrade Adebola Shola, has announced the restriction of motorcycle operation in the area from 10pm to 6am.
Comrade Shola, who addressed journalists yesterday on the security situation in the area said the decision was part of measures taken to check robbery, as according to him crime rate in the area increased in recent months.
He directed security agents to apprehend anyone found operating a motorcycle after the stipulated time, stressing that only security personnel are exempted from the restriction.
Shola added that activities at drinking joints have also been restricted, warning the people to take the ban seriously.
He advised traditional rulers and community leaders to make their vigilante groups effective to be able to curb crime.
