The Delta State Chapter of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC,) yesterday repositioned the party and strengthened its strategy in order to become the major opposition party in the State.
The party has been moribund in the state due to lack of visible structure, but plans have been concluded to reposition and strengthen the party to make it the major opposition party in the state.
According to a press release, the party chieftain in the state, Prince Asobi Oyemike, said the Delta State chapter of CPC affirms its preparedness to effectively mobilise its members to make a positive change in the state.
“The Delta State CPC affirms its preparedness to effectively mobilise its members and other believers in positive change in the state towards the upcoming Local Government elections in the state and ensure that proper democratic processes were followed in the electoral exercise.
We will make the party a more formidable opposition party fully prepared to wrest power from the ruling PDP in Delta State by 2015, he said.
He also added that they would work in accordance to the party’s constitution. “In accordance with our great party’s constitution, we have made strategic and all encompassing decisions on the resuscitation of the CPC in Delta State.
We are going to work in accordance with the recommendations of the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai led Renewal Committee to make Delta CPC a beacon in the South-South region of the country.”
